NIETEC members who hold the roles as Registered Internal or Professional Consultants are obliged to adhere the following ethics:
1. Consultant shall only engaged with assignment that he is expert at. Involving others if necessary to cover shortages should be first notified to the employer;
2. Consultant shall understand the scope, responsibilities and task of the assignment before consenting acceptance;
3. The Consultant shall clarify and ensure agreement is reached with the employer on the amount, calculation and payment methods, and termination of contract assignment before commencement of the duty;
4. Avoid taking any actions that could disrupt professional obligations;
5. Keeping legal rights and interests of employers in accordance with the provisions of the law.
6. Strive and be responsible for achieving the objectives of agreed professional obligations;
7. Distribute information regarding professional obligations and development to employers;
8. Respect the professional obligations of others who work together or side by side;
9. Not to disclose, leak or cause employer’s information to be leaked without the employer’s consent;
10. Avoid being exposed to conflicting personal interest situations;
11. Do not exacerbate other parties to the employer without cause and reasonable evidence;
12. Avoidance of involving or discussing on the internal affairs of the employer that is not related to the prescribed professional obligations;
13. Do not employ employer’s information for any purpose without the employer’s consent;
14. To update knowledge and skills and comply with NIETECD CPD requirements’
15. Always respect and abide all applicable law;
16. Respect for the right of religion and maintain the sensitivity of race and gender;
17. Do not ridicule the dignity of fellow consultants.
This ethics is included in the Rules and Regulations that must be complied with and adhered to by those registered as NIETEC Certified Management Consultant.
